Are you seeking an evidence-based holistic option for patients presenting with persistent pain conditions, particularly those who have demonstrated limited response to conventional therapeutic interventions?
This methodology is grounded in neurophysiological principles, recognizing that trauma, repetitive stress, and poor postures can impair bio-mechanical efficiency, restricting the proper glide and movement of the ribs, vertebrae, scapula, etc. This can result in compensations and excess effort in other areas, which can overtime result in back pain, neck pain as well as a host of overuse injuries.
The Feldenkrais approach is unique as it addresses the root cause of such issues by releasing these habitual patterns and promoting easier, more fluid movement throughout the body. With a background working 25 years as an Occupational Therapist, mostly in outpatient clients, Shara has found stretching and traditional treatment method to be limited or ineffective.
How the Session Works:
During a session, the client remains clothed and lies in a position of comfort. Shara uses a gentle touch, (akin to cranial-sacral therapy), to provide proprioceptive and kinesthetic feedback to the nervous system. This approach facilitates parasympathetic modulation through vagal nerve stimulation, promoting the release of excessive muscular tension. Clients often report feeling taller, lighter, and more symmetrical, with improved flexibility and range of motion. Remarkably, 9 out of 10 clients with Shara experience significant pain reduction after just one session.
